i totally love this!!! <3
1) the hips are fine as with the style to your piece it suits.
2) his body is fairly well porportioned and if anything the large coat help to 'dwarf' his appearance but not his precence if that makes sence...
3) the idea with his left hand is sound, but I think the lack of detail in the hand that is more present isn't that good of an idea, I realise he's got a good grip on his wand (lol suss thoughts) but their is an incredible amount of detail that can be found in a closed hand...
Anyway I hope that was helpfull, oh and hey props for getting to an idea I've been hashing out for a bit
